As I was decluttering my basement, I found this amazing quilt. "What's that, mom? Did you make it?" I explained, "It's a character trait quilt my former students made as a class project. "It's just a quilt. Why are you smiling. You look like you want to cry." I continued, "This is not just a quilt. It's very special to me because we learned so much about the character traits. My students worked together and we had a blast making it." In the photo is the "Fairness tree" How many times have we heard a child
say, "That's not fair!" My daughter's spoken words of frustration as she finds herself from time to time giving and not getting in return. As a parent, I become so enlightened when I hear those around us teaching our kids that it's not about wanting. What's important is giving. When you give from your heart. You care so much. This undoubtedly makes a difference, and that is what's fair :).
